Back Home

pleinair_cloudsfield_june15As if to chide me for my wandering ways, Texas has produced a week full of beautiful clouds since my return – and while it’s not as fun to sweat out the heat when there’s no sea breeze to cool you or ocean to jump in when it gets too hot, I am happy to find that Texas can produce equally lovely skies to paint as Florida can. I think the practice of painting clouds – as changeable and abstract as they are – has improved my technique. I’m faster, at least – and my strokes are more confidently placed. I just need these clouds to keep coming so I can keep up the practice!
