This new paper may prove to have its uses after all – for one thing, when it takes a brushstroke it takes it and never lets go. There’s no floating and fudging with this paper, a mark is a mark. I tried to take advantage of that by using one of my old, splayed out brushes to do the texture for the leaves. I think I went a little overboard, maybe, but it was fun to experiment. I think I’ll drag out my other spent brushes and see what sorts of shapes I can get out of them.
