copass_treepath_pleinair  I took along my paints to a retreat a few weekends ago, and took advantage of the change in scenery. I did feel a little bad about taking “work” on a retreat, but when work and play and therapy mingle so closely it’s hard to distinguish which you’re doing when. So we’ll call these relaxation paintings. I took an extensive walk around the grounds the day before I was going to go out – mapping out possible views and locations, and I came back with at least a dozen possible spots. Of course, I only had time for two paintings so I had to agonize over which vistas would get the cut. Turns out they all did. The light was different the next day, and I found two paint-worthy scenes I hadn’t seen the day before. The best laid plans…
