Ink

creeksidetree_penandinkIn the midst of a thorough de-junking of my room, I found a set of inking markers I’d bought in college and never used. Guilt being the mother of trying new things, I took them out with me on my next art outing – I don’t know if it’s a style I’ll continue on with after the markers are dead and gone, but it was a refreshing change. Drawing in ink does force me to be a little more careful and observant before putting down my lines, and it’s a bit easier to focus on details and textures when the temptation to get caught up in shading isn’t there.
