So, I trudged all the way out to the field to try some oil painting, found the perfect spot to set up with the perfect view and the sun shining down perfectly on this perfect little hill and just as I was about to start painting I realized I forgot to bring my oil brushes. Perfect. Fortunately I’ve always got my watercolor things on me, so I tried to capture the scene with those. I’m still mad that I missed working it out with the oils – the lighting would have been fun to render in an opaque medium – but I’m glad I had the watercolors so I didn’t miss out all together. I also got a few pictures, so, who knows, maybe I’ll do an oil painting of it someday after all.
